We Didn’t Start The Fire/Billy Joel
when i was in high school my parents got our very first DVD player, from Costco of course. With it came a special edition of Disney shorts. This may have been purely so that we actually had something to watch on our new DVD player, but that doesn’t really matter. What matters is there is a really cute little short with a grasshopper and ants.
See the grasshopper is messing around all summer singing a song about how the world owes him a living while the ants are working really hard to save and have enough food and supplies for winter. And then winter comes along and the grasshopper near freezes to death. and the ants help the grasshopper despite the fact that he didn’t help them and made fun of them for planning ahead.
so cut to the next summer and the grasshopper is helping the ants save for winter while singing, i owe the world a living, the world don’t owe me nothin’.
i hate people like the pre-winter grasshopper.
Wow, another bastardization of a great story by Disney…;op
The Grasshopper and the Ant was written in the 17th century by Jean de la Fontaine, the writer of many incredible fables.
